Wokingham Borough Connect
Ramblers and council team up to make walking map
We've been working hard with Loddon Valley Ramblers to make planning your walking route around the borough easier for you.
We’ve updated our definitive rights of way map with help from the charity, whose volunteers walked all 238 km (140 miles) of our footpaths, bridleways and byways and recorded the location of all 84 stiles, 231 gates, 108 bridges, 21 benches and 876 signs.
Whether you're walking to get from A to B or for leisure, you can search for the nearest routes in your area, then click on points of interest to find out more. If you encounter something not listed on your travels, report it and we’ll aim to update the map or fix faults as soon as we can.
We hope this map will be especially helpful for people with mobility issues, who may struggle to navigate stiles, and we’re working to replace as many of these with gates as possible. Our thanks go to the Ramblers - we’d really have struggled to produce this without them.
While you’re out and about, why not take part in the My Journey Wokingham challenge on the Innovation Valley Rewards app? Find out more about this, and what we’re doing to promote walking and cycling more generally, on our My Journey Wokingham page.
How safe do you feel when you're out and about?
Wokingham Borough is one of the safest places in the country to live, work and visit, but we know that crime and disorder still happens and that can affect how safe you feel when you're out and about.
By completing our annual survey, you can help us to shape new and emerging priorities and actions.
The more you tell us about your experiences and concerns the more we can do to help make you feel safe.
