Short road closures for Remembrance Sunday
This coming Sunday (13 November) is Remembrance Sunday and there will be some road closures in the borough to allow Remembrance Day processions to be held respectfully and safely.

- School Road between Eversley Road and Link Way

Have your say on parking in Twyford and Earley
Twyford
During 2020, we surveyed residents and businesses in Twyford about parking issues on and off road, with two-thirds of residents responding (66 per cent) reporting parking problems in their road, and nearly all (91 per cent) supporting new or improved parking restrictions.
Site surveys were delayed due to lockdown and work from home rules, meaning we wouldn't get a true picture of what the parking situation around Twyford was like when people were travelling as usual.
We have now been able to complete these surveys and would like your feedback on the proposed changes to on-street parking management. These have been developed in response to specific resident requests and the types of issues raised.
Earley
We are looking to improve parking for the residents in and around Hlltop Road in Earley.
Our consultation will have several stages, including a better understanding of issues that residents may have, carrying out traffic surveys and consulting on parking proposals.
If you would like to complete a paper copy, or need support to take the survey, please call us on 0118 974 6000 or drop into your local library.
Cyclists and pedestrians welcome as new road opens
We've opened the southern half of Nine Mile Ride Extension, which has a footway and cycleway along both sides, to improve access for everyone through the Arborfield Garrison major development.
This runs between the A327 Eversley Road roundabout to the west and the junction with Park Lane to the east, forming a 2km route to help residents travel to local amenities and further afield.
Where possible, we hope as many journeys as possible will be made on foot, or by bicycle or bus. We have lots of other measures in the pipeline to make this safer and more convenient, both in this area and across the borough.
The project was funded and partly built by developers building new homes in the area, under legal agreements we reached when we awarded planning permission, so it isn’t coming from our finances.
Our contractor Balfour Beatty worked on the southern half while the northern half, which was completed and opened some time ago, was provided by the developers. We thank everyone who helped us bring this complex scheme to a successful finish.
