Wokingham Borough Connect
Improving accessibility at Wokingham station
Organisations supporting older adults and those with disabilities have joined forces to make train travel more accessible for all.
The Ability Travel Team at Optalis, who provide care and support on our behalf, worked with the Wokingham Learning Disability Partnership Board (LDPB) and CLASP to develop a new Easy Read Station Guide for Wokingham train station.
Easy Read is an accessible format, using simple language and pictures to support those that need help reading. The guide was put together with members from CLASP, who reviewed the text and helped with the photography.
The new guide was introduced at an event held at Wokingham Train Station that raised awareness of learning disabilities and shared information about using travel, including travel training support available from Optalis Ability Travel Team.
For more information about the Easy Read Station Guide for Wokingham, you can pick a leaflet up at the station or download it here.
If you would like to know more about travel training, please visit the Ability Travel Team page for more information and to get in touch.
