Spotlight: Beer firm brews up recipe for success
This week's Business Spotlight falls on Elusive Brewing. Based on the Hogwood Estate in Finchampstead, Elusive creates beer with one eye on tradition and the other on taking things to the next level.
Founded by a home brewer who went on to win awards at national level, the business has shown great resolve throughout the pandemic and continues to invest in both personnel and equipment.
A recent addition to the team is managing director Ruth Mitchell, who brings over 12 years of industry experience to the business. Elusive are also investing in new technology to help reduce energy consumption in the brewing process.
They join a number of craft breweries across the borough with a passion for producing great beers.
We want to promote local businesses and showcase their inspiring stories. If you have a story to tell, get in touch with our business engagement team.
Keeping in touch with young team members
Youth Employment UK is inviting employers to attend a free webinar on best practice for managing young staff remotely.
Through the coronavirus pandemic, there has been a huge shift in work patterns and statistics suggest that this change may be more long-lasting.
Youth Employment UK will explore ideas to help HR leaders, line managers and supervisors learn more about supporting young people, including:
- how to prepare and support young people for home working
- how to deal with challenges of home working
- how to make arrangements for young people to ensure that they have the best development opportunities and employee experiences
The webinar takes place next Thursday (20 October) from 11.30am to 12.30pm. Sign up using the button below.
Is your business affected by road closures?
For planned maintenance on the borough's roads, we issue alerts through our newsletters and update our interactive maps. To further support this work, the business engagement team will also receive the notifications and do their best to match these locations to businesses that could be affected.
By giving enough notice, we hope we can help businesses to mitigate any potential disruption by either being more aware themselves or, in cases of longer planned works, updating their websites to pass the news to customers.
