Help us spread the word for cost of living help
Dear resident,
We're about to relaunch our community information champions newsletter. This time it's about helping others with the cost of living crisis.
If you're getting this is, its because you previously helped as an information champion during Covid-19.
We're relaunching the initiative as winter creeps closer and the number of people needing help rises with concerns on energy/fuel prices, buying food and paying bills.
Why we need you
Honestly, when you provide information or help to people around you, then are more likely to listen. To get the help they might need.
You sharing the messages is really, really impactful. Far more than us reaching out to them.
And there's never been more of a need for it.
Data from Citizens Advice for Wokingham Borough shows 93.4 per cent of residents are worried or extremely worried about the cost of living going up.
Yet 74.6 per cent have not reached out for help.
Many are skipping meals, eating their children's leftovers, building up debts or risking not turning heating on.
We need people like you to spread the word about help which is on offer.
What we need you to do
Each week we'll send you an email with messages you can easily copy and paste to others. Put them anywhere you think they can help.
We'll provide infographics and imagery to go out too, helping those who prefer information this way.
You can share them on social media, put them in your WhatsApp groups or share them by email.
Take the information around to your elderly neighbours and tell them if they're not online.
Every message passed on makes a difference.
Every extra person we get help will make a difference.
