We've brought this newsletter back for a one-off edition with local updates on where and how you can get a Covid-19 vaccine before the winter.
We may send more updates through the coming months with relevant local information.
Covid-19 vaccinations return to former library
Clinics run by the NHS have returned to the borough, giving you convenient access to get your Covid vaccinations.
This includes the vaccine clinic on the ground floor of the former Wokingham Library in Denmark Street, which operates on certain days.
Please check your eligibility and book using the NHS National Booking System or call 119. The clinics will accept walk-ins where there is capacity. Remember to bring your NHS number if you have one and to wear a face covering.
This winter, it is expected that many respiratory infections, including Covid-19, may be circulating at high levels and this may put increasing pressure on hospitals and other healthcare services.
Getting up-to-date with Covid-19 vaccinations is the best way to protect you and your loved ones as we live with the virus.
If you try to book and are unable to find the former Wokingham Library as a location, it is likely all bookable slots have been taken, or it is not providing the vaccine you need. Please do get the vaccine at other locations.
When to visit
The clinic at the former Wokingham Library currently offers vaccines to five to 11-year-olds.
It is also currently offering the autumn booster jab to people aged 65 and over, as well as health and social care workers, who have completed their primary course of at least the first two doses.
Other groups eligible for the autumn booster should come forward later as the programme continues to roll out. It will eventually be open to everyone aged 50 and over, and other selected groups.
The next clinics for the adult autumn booster are:
- Thursday 29 September, from 9.30am to 4.30pm
- Friday 30 September, from 9.30am to 4.30pm
The next clinic for children is:
- Sunday 2 October, from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
If you are not currently eligible, the library won't show up as a venue on the booking system. In that case, please get the vaccine at other locations near you.

- Ask for your bank account or card details
- Ask for your PIN or banking password

- Ask you to prove your identity by sending copies of personal documents such as your passport, driving licence, bills or pay slips
If you receive a call you believe to be fraudulent, hang up. If you are suspicious about an email you have received, forward it to report@phishing.gov.uk. Suspicious text messages should be forwarded to the number 7726, which is free of charge.
If you believe you are the victim of a fraud, please report this to Action Fraud as soon as possible by calling 0300 123 2040 or visiting the Action Fraud website.
