Wokingham Borough Connect
Find a voluntary or community sector part
In our post-Covid business survey earlier this year we asked businesses to think about the voluntary and community sector in the Borough.
We're looking at how individuals and companies can get involved with these groups.
We could help match your business with a relevant voluntary or community sector partner in the area.
If you'd like to find a match for your businesses next community day or set up a longer lasting relationship, email economicdevelopment@wokingham.gov.uk
Helping local food businesses reduce waste
Did you know Too Good to Go is now running in Wokingham borough?
Join more than 22,233 UK stores selling their unsold food surplus items, instead of throwing them away or having them incinerated or sent to landfill.
Shops can put unsold food items into ‘magic bags’ and list them on the mobile/tablet app for about a third of the original retail price. Users of the app can search for magic bags offered by nearby businesses and purchase them through the app. They can then go and pick them up at a set time.
As part of our partnership with Too Good to Go, the administration fees for the first six months on the platform will be waived. This applies if businesses in the borough sign up before 31 December 2022.
You can find out more about our partnership with Too Good to Go on our news site.
