Cycle September - register now to be in with the chance of winning an early bird prize
Cycle September is a month-long competition from Love to Ride, which aims to get more people riding bikes. At a time when environmental issues, wellness, and money saving are an important factor for many, there has never been a better time to ride a bike.
There are so many benefits to be enjoyed from riding a bike, and Cycle September is all about embracing each and every one of them, such as:
⚡️ Supercharged physical health – even a 10-minute bike ride will boost your immune system, improve cardiovascular health, and help you live longer!
🧠 Improved mental health – riding a bike is a mindful activity that promotes the release of endorphins and can reduce the causes of depression
🧡 Reduced stress and anxiety - biking can calm the mind, improve self-confidence, and elevate your mood
🌍 Protecting the planet – reduce your carbon footprint by leaving the car at home
💰 Saving money – cut down on transport costs and car maintenance
So far, only 31 per cent of those registered for Cycle September are women and My Journey would like to help change that. Let's bridge the gender gap for cycling and show our support.
Register here to take part in Cycle September. Register now and you'll automatically be in with a chance to win an early bird prize - a brand new bike.

Have your say - Rose Street
We want to hear your views on a proposal to introduce a new traffic management scheme in Rose Street, Wokingham, near its junction with Broad Street.
The proposal forms part of the town centre improvement works aimed at enhancing the street scene and improving accessibility for both pedestrians and vehicles.
The existing traffic island which reduces the width of the carriageway would be removed and replaced with kerb buildouts on both sides of the road.
The width limit will be retained for safety reasons and the crossing point will be raised to footway level to reduce speeds and assist pedestrians.
You can see drawings of the proposed works and give us your feedback on Engage Wokingham Borough.
The Ridges Summer update
Works have begun to fix The Ridges in Finchampstead, and it is anticipated it will be complete by 4 November.
In Spring 2021, sections of The Ridges started to collapse. It was soon established that it wouldn’t have been safe to just patch up the road. A long-term solution was needed to prevent it from happening again.
What followed has been a complex project involving a range of technical disciplines to identify the right solution, considering long term stability, disruption during construction, land availability, value for money and environmental impacts (including tree retention and carbon impacts).
Specialist engineers were required to look at the issue, what was causing it and to come up with some different solutions, and soil nails were chosen as the preferred option.
A tender went out shortly after, and VSL Systems Ltd have now been appointed to undertake the work.
