University careers and placement fair
We wanted to make local employers aware the University of Reading is advertising its upcoming Careers and Placement Fair.
This will be in person from 10.30am to 3pm on the 12 October 2022.
The fair is the university’s biggest careers event of the year and is advertised as the main opportunity for employers to advertise graduate jobs, schemes and placements to all students.
This event attracts students from all disciplines and years, crossing both undergraduate and postgraduate study. Bookings are now open so do have a look at the details and see if you might like to attend.
Be seen in the borough

The newly updated site now incorporates tabs for networking events and available commercial property, as well as the business directory.
Later this year we will be promoting the directory to residents across the borough, so don’t miss out by registering your business and being seen.

Celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride
June was LGBTQ+ Pride month. We celebrated by sharing informative articles with colleagues, as well as insightful lunch and learn sessions on themes such as inclusive language, an inclusive workplace and talking to and supporting children and young people.
Our libraries also put together some helpful reading lists, including recommended books for children. We would love to hear your stories about how you’ve been celebrating Pride in 2022, or how you might celebrate later in the year.
Wokingham Town Council is celebrating with its Pride Picnic on Saturday 9 July. The free event takes place in Elms Field, Wokingham, from 11.30am to 4pm.
It will be a fun and family-friendly event and everyone who supports the aims of Pride is welcome.
You don’t need an existing connection to Wokingham’s LGBTQ+ community - just bring something to eat and a picnic rug and make new friends.
