Wokingham Borough Connect
Celebrate the jubilee
With The Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend taking place over four days from Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 June there are lots of opportunities for residents to get involved and celebrate this special event.
In this special jubilee edition of our What's on newsletter, we're highlighting some of the key things going on in the borough, along with other activities you can use to mark the jubilee.
Why not write your good wishes to Her Majesty The Queen by signing a congratulations card at the reception area at our council offices in Shute End? You can sign the card between our opening hours of Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Please note we are closed on weekends and over the bank holidays. Cards will be displayed until Wednesday 1 June and will be sent to Buckingham Palace after the Jubilee weekend. Can’t make it? Sign the digital congratulations card on our Engage Wokingham website.
And, to help residents attend local celebratory events and visit the borough's shops and amenities, we're revising our parking charges for the bank holidays (Thursday 2 June and Friday 3 June) and offering free parking in many of our car parks (not including country parks or park and ride facilities). Find out more about which car parks will be offering free parking on our website.
