This newsletter will stop on 27 May
We’ll stop sending this newsletter at the end of May and the final edition will be 27 May, as we move to the Government’s Living with Covid plan.
It means if you haven’t signed up for any other updates, you won’t hear from us.
We send more than a dozen regular newsletters on a range of topics, so there will be something for you.
One you might be interested in is our Emergency Alerts update, where we’ll send you bulletins during extreme weather like snow, storms and flooding. It means you can get the latest local information during these incidents direct from us.
Walk-in vaccine centre at Wokingham Library
There is a dedicated Covid-19 vaccine centre at Wokingham Library (Denmark Street, Wokingham, RG40 2BB) to help make access to the vaccine easier for residents. Please make good use of the facility while we have it. This weekend, the site is open:
- Friday 29 April (9.30am-4.30pm) - Spring boosters for over 75s and first, second and booster doses for over 18s (Moderna)
- Saturday 30 April (9.30am-4.30pm) - First and second doses for 12-17 year olds, second doses for 18-74 year olds and booster doses for 16-17 year olds (Pfizer)
- Sunday 1 May (10.30am-4.30pm) - First doses for 5-11 year olds (Pfizer)
The site is accepting walk-ins, or you can book in advance to avoid disappointment. It’s open to all eligible people, including:
- People not registered with a GP or those without an NHS number
- People with no indefinite leave to remain status
Visitors travelling by car can park at Denmark Street Car Park, and more parking options are available across the town. Usual fees apply. Please bring your NHS number if you have it, and a face covering.
Covid Legacy Project now live
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our Covid Legacy Project; capturing life in the borough during the pandemic and providing a platform for residents to share their experiences.
The display is now live at Wokingham Library and will remain there for a few weeks before moving onto the next location.
If you would like to participate you still can. Simply email your contributions, sentiments and pictures to CEM@wokingham.gov.uk, or hand in your contribution at the library.
Don’t forget about our Local Support Hub
If you’re worrying about money, your mental health, supporting your family, finding work, or anything else, please have a look at our Local Support Hub as it is packed with useful information and links.
One Front Door, led by Citizens Advice Wokingham can also help if you want to talk to someone about your situation.
They work with us and many other local charities to support residents. You can contact them by calling 0808 278 7958, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, or by filling in the form on their website.
