 Didn't receive your bags?
We have now completed the borough wide delivery of blue bags and food waste caddy liners.
All residents should now have received their allocation. If you haven't received these, we apologise for the inconvenience. Please report this on our website and pop along to one of our collection hubs.
Collecting the waste bags is the fastest way to get your allocation, however, if you have difficulty getting to one of the hubs or have no one to collect on your behalf we can deliver. Please note this will take slightly longer than picking them up. If you do require bags to be redelivered please email customerservice@wokingham.gov.uk.
 One blue bag challenge
Did you know that about half of the rubbish we throw away in Wokingham Borough could be recycled – much of this, at home, through your kerbside recycling collections.
Food currently makes up almost a quarter of what goes into the average blue waste bag. It doesn't seem like much on its own, but there are more than 75,000 households in the borough so it all adds up - and costs the council over £500,000 a year to dispose of.
We're encouraging our residents to try the One Blue Bag Challenge. If we all only use one blue bag per week for each household, this would significantly reduce the amount of rubbish we send to landfill or burn for energy. If you’re already doing a great job reducing your waste, try challenging yourself to one bag every other week.

 Garden waste sign up
Sign up for new garden waste subscribers is now open. You can do this via the council’s website, with the cost covering the period from April 2022 until March 2023.
More than 24,000 residents are already signed up for the service, which takes away garden clippings, grass cuttings, leaves and weeds fortnightly from the kerbside in a 240-litre brown wheeled bin.
Anyone already using the council’s garden waste collection service will get an email or letter asking them to renew their subscription next month.
