Delivery of this year’s allocation of green food waste bags and blue general waste bags started last week. These will be delivered over a six-week period, with all residents receiving them by mid-March.
Each household across the borough will receive 80 blue rubbish bags in two rolls of 40 to cover the period between April 2022 and March 2023. Households will also receive an allocation of 75 blue food waste bags.
Please use our separate food waste collection service for all food waste, as food put into the blue waste bags is bad for the environment and costs our council taxpayers £500,000 per year to dispose of.

With many of us spending more time at home than previous years, it can mean that we end up with more rubbish to deal with. With that and the climate emergency, it’s more important than ever to recycle as much as we can, using the green recycling bags and the food waste caddies.
