 Re3 paint reuse scheme
Over 100,000 litres of paint a year, enough to cover almost 180 football pitches, is disposed of by residents in the local area each year. Incredibly, we estimate that 65% of discarded paint is still in usable condition.
To prevent this waste, re3 launched the Community Paint Reuse initiative that allows residents to collect free tins of full or partly used paint that were deposited at both recycling centres.
Water-based paint is available to collect from both our recycling centres - Just book your click & tip slot via the re3 webpage.

 Rigid plastics
Did you know you can recycle your rigid plastics at re3 recycling centres?
Rigid plastics account for 700 tonnes of waste across our wider area and until July last year, had to be disposed of. It is estimated that every 100 tonnes of recycled rigid plastic can contribute to avoid 250,000 kg CO2 emissions, which is equivalent to the consumption of 180 cars. All the materials are recycled in European and UK markets in pipelines, cars, construction and furniture materials.
The new rigid plastic recycling will enable residents visiting re3 Recycling Centres to recycle a variety of previously non-recycled rigid plastic items such as: plastic buckets, crates, bins, storage boxes, garden furniture, pipes, toys or plastic plant pots.
You can book your click & tip slot via the re3 webpage.
 Small electricals
Did you know a massive 75% of all materials in your old electrical items can be recycled and turned into useful things like life-saving equipment, children’s playground equipment, and even new electricals?
Small, old electricals are one of the fastest-growing waste streams in the UK and in the world with 50 million tonnes of electrical waste thrown away annually across the globe, and that is set to triple by 2050. The total number of cables hoarded in UK homes (140 million) could circle the earth more than 5 times.
To find out more about how you can help by recycling your electricals or to book a slot visit the re3 webpage.
