Why not start your Christmas or New Year's day with a walk, jog or run in festive fancy dress?
The Dinton Pastures park run is a free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event that takes place every Saturday at 9am. This year, the park run falls on Christmas AND New Year's Day!
It is free to join, but please register online via the park run website beforehand.
New bridges in North Wokingham
We've extended our network of footpaths at Old Forest Meadows, a public green space off Old Forest Road, to include a series of bridges crossing the Emm Brook.
The popular walking site is among many which have been funded by developers building housing in the area. Take a look at the map of the walking route.
Find out more about this greenspace on the Old Forest Meadows webpage.
Discover walking routes in the borough's 12 other beautiful greenspaces that the partnership manage for us via the Thames Basin Heath Website.

Pupils celebrate National Tree Week
To celebrate this year's National Tree Week, our My Journey Wokingham team helped Year 5 pupils at Shinfield St Mary's School to plant about 30 saplings along a fence in their school grounds.
The saplings were provided under the Woodland Trust's Free Trees for Schools scheme, which we encourage schools to take part in because trees have lots of benefits for the environment.
This includes removing pollution from the air to improve air quality and tackle the climate emergency - and we've pledged to do everything we can to bring our borough's carbon emissions to net-zero by 2030.
Our thanks to the school's teacher Matt Knight, who runs the school's eco-club, for getting the children involved.
For more information about our latest active travel and air quality initiatives, visit the My Journey Wokingham website.
Festive updates
They'll be a slightly longer gap to our next update as we pause our email newsletters over the festive break.
You'll get your next Countryside update on 4 January.
We'll still be sending updates out on rubbish and recycling so you can keep track of bin day and recycle as much as possible this Christmas. Sign up using the button below.
See you in 2022!
