Westmorland and Furness residents are being urged to share their views in The Big Conversation on Care, a major national engagement programme to shape the future of adult social care in England.
Adult social care plays a vital role in supporting older people, adults with disabilities, unpaid carers and families across Westmorland and Furness every day.
Through The Big Conversation on Care, people are being asked to consider important questions about how care should be delivered in the future, who should be eligible for support, the role of families and communities, and how the system should be funded.

World Suicide Prevention Day is an annual reminder that our actions, no matter how big or small, may provide hope to those who are struggling.
Every Life Matters - Suicide Safer Cumbria are hosting events in Barrow, Kendal and Penrith to light candles and share a minute’s silence, joining people around the world in reflection. This is a chance to remember those we’ve lost to suicide, to stand beside those who are struggling, and to show that no one is alone.
Westmorland and Furness Council is proud to support the Orange Button Scheme, which equips colleagues to recognise suicide risk and signpost people to support. If you would like to access the free training and make a difference in your community, it is available at Every Life Matters.
Urgent NHS mental health help can be found at 111 or by dialing 111 Option 2. You can also access support through the Samaritans on 116 123.
