This flexible, bookable bus service in and around Ulverston allows passengers to book journeys when they need them, rather than relying on a fixed bus timetable or route.
Using the app or telephone booking service, passengers can request journeys within the operating area, and the system matches requests together to provide efficient shared transport. This means the bus travels where and when journeys are needed, helping connect rural communities with nearby towns and services.
The area included in the Ulverston pilot scheme takes in the Furness peninsula down to Roa Island and Roose and from there an area roughly bordered by Stank, Newton-in-Furness, Askam, Kirkby, Foxfield, Duddon Bridge, Broughton Mills, Torver, Satterthwaite, Thwaite Head, Witherslack, Meathop, Grange and Flookburgh.
All journeys were free for the first two weeks as an introductory offer, and charges now apply.
A second scheme for Penrith is due to start later this year.

We now have confirmed dates for reconstruction of Bellow Hill Culvert, which is scheduled to take place from 14 September to 16 October, with a maximum duration of up to five weeks.
These works will require a full road closure on the A684. The closure will remain in place at all times, including outside normal working hours (8am to 5pm). During this period, all road users will be directed via the signed diversion route.
Please also note that Danny Wheel Road, which runs parallel to the A684, will be closed at the Bellow Hill junction (eastern end) for the duration of the works.
The signed diversion route will operate via the B6259 (Kirkby Stephen), A685 (Tebay), A683 (Sedbergh), and A684 (Garsdale). Please note that this diversion is not suitable for vehicles exceeding 14' 6" in height due to a low bridge on the A685.
Work is progressing well on a significant extension at Penrith's Beaconside CofE Primary School, which will create additional school places and expand specialist provision for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
The scheme was approved by Westmorland and Furness Council following public consultation and is being funded through Section 106 developer contributions. These funds are provided by housing developers to ensure sufficient school places are available as local communities grow.
Construction remains on programme for completion in Spring 2027, with foundations finished and structural work well underway on both the Key stage 1 and 2 buildings.
