We appreciate there may be some concerns as the grace period deadline for garden waste subscription - Sunday 28 June - approaches, particularly for customers who haven’t yet received their bin stickers.
If you have already subscribed, please don’t worry - we will have a record of your payment on our system and our crews are able to check this. Your garden waste will still be collected after 28 June, even if your sticker hasn’t arrived just yet.
Please allow up to 15 working days from the point of signing up for your sticker to arrive before getting in touch. If it hasn’t been delivered after this time, please contact us on 0300 373 3300 so we can look into this for you. Thank you for your patience.
If you haven't subscribed yet but would like to, there's still time. Sign up by 28 June to avoid interruption to your collections. If you subscribe after 28 June, your collections will start after you've signed up and have received your collection sticker(s).

This week, we are proudly flying the Armed Forces Day flag in Barrow, Kendal and Penrith to mark Armed Forces Week 2026 (22–27 June).
Armed Forces Week is an opportunity for communities across the country to recognise, celebrate and give thanks to the Armed Forces community, from currently serving personnel and their families to veterans and cadets.
Westmorland and Furness Council is proud to be a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring those who serve or have served, and their families, are treated fairly and not disadvantaged by their service.
This commitment is reflected in a range of practical support, including a guaranteed interview scheme for Armed Forces personnel and veterans, as well as additional paid leave for staff who are reservists or Cadet Force Adult Volunteers to fulfil defence-related commitments.

Showing support for our Armed Forces - Westmorland and Furness Council
As #PrideMonth in the UK draws to a close, colleagues from our LGBTQ+ Staff Network, alongside workplace allies, have been attending local events across Westmorland and Furness, including Furness Pride on 23 May and Kendal Pride on 13 June.
These events are an important way for us to show our support, celebrate diversity and connect with residents. They also give us the chance to listen to people’s experiences so we can continue to improve our services and make them accessible for everyone.
