Infant crying is a healthy and essential form of communication and part of infant development. Babies use crying to signal hunger, discomfort, tiredness, or even the need for attention. Crying peaks around 6–8 weeks of age and gradually decreases over time. It’s important to remember that even if you cannot determine the exact cause, your baby’s crying is normal and will stop. Persistent crying can be stressful, but having knowledge and strategies to cope will make a real difference.
