Child and Family Support Services update
After seeking the views of families last year, Westmorland and Furness Council took the decision to bring the Child and Family Support Services back under council control through their newly created Family Hubs.
The service, previously contracted to Family Action, Barnardo’s and Action for Children across the Westmorland and Furness council area, will be managed by the council from April 1 2025.
Please be assured that the service supporting children, young people and their families will continue to be offered by Westmorland and Furness council and the aim is that families will experience as little change as possible.
Currently, our services are running as normal and will do so until the current contracts
come to an end on the 31 March. After this date, the team will be employed by
Westmorland and Furness council and will continue to deliver the service.
To ensure a smooth transition and minimal disruption of the service, the current providers of the service are working closely with the council and their delivery teams.
We will continue to provide updates over the coming weeks during this period of change.
