We are looking to recruit enthusiastic individuals with a passion for vehicles. You’ll receive training in all aspects of vehicle maintenance, supported by high-quality development opportunities, personalised guidance from managers and mentors, and the chance to work alongside skilled staff.
Based within the Fleet Services Team, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and legal operation of the council’s diverse fleet of around 500 vehicles. With over 7,700 maintenance jobs annually, you’ll contribute to this essential service, with the opportunity to become a permanent member of the team upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.

Are you ready to play a key role in keeping our roads safe and well maintained? As a technical apprentice in the Highways Service, you will be actively involved in ensuring that this vital asset is maintained to ensure the highways network operates efficiently.
You will have the opportunity to work across a variety of services to further widen your experience, working with experienced staff on real projects. You will be expected to effectively assist with a range of duties connected with the various Highways Service areas including Flood and Development Management, Asset Management, Bridges and Structures, Traffic Management, Network Management, Streetworks and Operational Delivery.

Ready to play a key role in delivering projects that make a real impact? Our Project Management apprenticeship will give you hands-on experience overseeing initiatives that benefit local communities.
We have vacancies across a wide range of council services, including Adult Social Care, Highways and Infrastructure, Public Transport, Safe and Strong Communities and Team Barrow.
As an Associate Project Manager, you’ll learn how to plan, manage and deliver projects effectively – gaining practical skills in leadership, budgeting and teamwork.
