Two weekend closures are planned for the A595 as Westmorland and Furness Council progress with its £23 million improvement scheme.
The temporary route, scheduled to open in mid-February, will serve all vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians for six months while a new overpass is constructed to carry local traffic over the new A595 and provide access to Grizebeck Village.
On Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 February, and Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 February, a full closure of the A595 at Grizebeck Village is planned to ensure the safety of both site crews and road users during this key milestone for the project. Both closures will run from 7:00 am on Saturday until 5:00 pm on Sunday.

Somewhere vulnerable children can feel secure, cared for and hopeful for a better future. Somewhere they can settle for a few weeks, months or sometimes years as they take steps towards their future.
They arrive here from often incredibly traumatic situations – fleeing from war, persecution, violence and civil unrest. These refugee children arrive without parents or family to look after them. They need a safe place to call home. They need to know that there is someone there for them.
You will be provided with support and training to help you care for these children. Understandably, there can be challenges, but you will have the help you need, when you need it.
You can find out more at our online information event on Thursday 20 February from 6.30pm to 7.30pm or enquire today and open your home to a child who desperately needs it. Find out more about our event and how to register at cumbriafostering.org.uk or speak to our team today on 0300 019 0200
