Please let parents / carers know that the registration window is now OPEN (until 31st October) to register their children or young people with SEND for their free 76 hours of Targeted Short Break Activities.
This valued service (funded by the DFE) offers parents, families, and young people a ‘short break’ from each other, with fun activities arranged for the children and young people, while parents and families can have a ‘short break’ from their care duties.
Eligible children and young people receive 76 hours to use across the year.
The child or young person is eligible if they…
- Live in Westmorland & Furness
- Have a disability (as defined by the Equalities Act 2010)
- Have a current education, health and care plan (EHCP)
- Is in academic year groups 1 to 13 (or equivalent)
To access the service for the first time or to continue using it from Feb 1st, 2025, their parent or carer needs to register for Westmorland & Furness’s Targeted Short Breaks Service between 1st and 31st October 2024. (This window is for registration only, the hours are for use across the year)
