Our outreach officers were delighted to attend this years Dino Day. On a gloriously sunny day in Barrow they joined a huge crown and some fabulously dangerous dinos. Library staff were on hand to talk about all the great things libraries do, our digital, health and volunteer offer as well as showing off some of our best dino books. They let everyone know about all the fun activities and challenges coming to Westmorland and Furness libraries this summer.
Thank you to everyone who attends our Friendly Group at Kendal library. A fun, relaxed group where all are welcome. Pop in for a chat a cuppa and take part in different activities together.
"We really enjoyed taking time out away from our busy care jobs at a local school. Making the coasters was really relaxing, we had a good chat and will be back next week to finish them."
Kendal outreach team are also delighted to be delivering a Reading Friends group with Springfield. the new group is off to a great start with participants saying,
"We have had two very interesting sessions so far. We loved the music activity because it opened up other aspects of our lives unknown to the others .It was fun to reminisce, share our different musical eras, listen to the songs. Tina was an engaging provider, warm and open. She was well prepared with resources and gave us choices.
She had suggested a craft session for the second week. Again, we had interesting music and this time a relaxing and focused individual activity, which allowed for casual undirected conversation. We were surprised when the hour was up. We look forward to next week."

"Dear Archive and Local Studies Staff,
Thank you to all of you at Barrow Library. After the wonderful help we received there, we were able to locate the exact residence and even visit my ancestors home that the current owners graciously invited us into. The visit to both the library and my ancestral home and area went beyond all my expectations.
I wanted to give my thanks and appreciation for everything that the library staff did for me. Archivist, Susan Benson was incredible!
Once we finished our visit to the UK, we returned home, please know that the kindness you and the library staff gave me will always be appreciated and never forgotten.
With warm regards"
