The Westmorland and Furness Holiday Activities and Food programme is now open for booking and gives eligible children a wide range of free activities to choose over the Easter holidays.
The programme incorporates sporting activities, crafts, egg hunts and much more, to support children and young people to try new things, have fun and improve their wellbeing.

Parents and carers are invited to drug and alcohol awareness workshops by webinar led by drug educators from the drug education charity the Daniel Spargo-Mabbs Foundation.

This workshop provides a great opportunity for you as a parent or carer to become more aware of what issues face your children, and what you can do to help them stay safe. There is also the opportunity to ask confidential questions before the workshop via the online survey link you will receive, and during the workshop itself. Everything is anonymous.
Cumbrian LGBTQ+ foster carers and adopters shared their stories this week as new figures show a record 1 in 4 Cumbrian children placed for adoption in the last three years were adopted by LGBTQ+ families.
Cumbria Fostering and Cumbria Adoption celebrated LGBTQ+ Adoption and Fostering Week, organised by national charity New Family Social.
Foster carers Rosie and Claire and social worker Laura Worthington appeared in this ITV Border report highlighting the need for more foster carers and the important role that LGBTQ+ carers play in providing loving homes for Cumbrian children.
Meanwhile Cumbrian Adoption released new figures showing a doubling in adoptions by LGBTQ+ families since 2018, and shared Amy and Kirstie’s story of adopting their son.
Both couples shared how accepting society has become of same-sex foster carers and adopters.
