Cumbria Fostering is inviting members of the LGBT community to consider whether they could change the life of vulnerable children during LGBTQ+ Adoption & Fostering Week, which returns next week.
The annual awareness week, which runs from March 4 to 10, is organised by charity New Family Social. Cumbrian Fostering is one of 120 fostering and adoption agencies nationwide, which is supporting the campaign by urging members of the LGBTQ community to find out more about fostering at our upcoming events.

Over 300 people that live and work in Penrith have so far shared views in the council’s consultation on a proposed new parking permit application process.
The new ‘parking protocol’ is set to be formally introduced in Spring 2024 to address specific parking issues in Penrith, making the way on-street parking permits are obtained a fair and consistent process for all.

Do you have items of community equipment at home that are still in good condition, but no longer wanted or needed? Items such as commodes, shower chairs, adjustable trolleys or bed levers?
Free up space by taking them along to our Take-Back event at Penrith Town Hall next week.
For one week only, from Monday 4 March to Thursday 7 March, you can drop off any unwanted equipment at reception, where they will be collected for cleaning and redistribution.
Need to free up space sooner? You can return to one of our Household Waste Recycling Centres.
Walking aids such as walking sticks, zimmer frames and crutches should be returned to your local hospital.
