Westmorland and Furness residents thinking about adopting in 2024 could be matched with a Cumbrian child in need of a new loving family within the year, says Cumbria Adoption.
The county’s adoption agency launched its new Adopt 2024 campaign this week to encourage would-be adopters to find out more about the adoption process and the needs of the Cumbrian children being placed for adoption.
Adopters can be approved to adopt after a six-month assessment and training process.
The groups of children waiting longest for adoption in Cumbria and nationwide are brothers and sisters, children aged 3 to 4 and over, and children with additional needs.
The media and social media campaign runs until February 4. A new website has easier ways to get in touch and seek more information, and to register for the next online information events and 1-1 appointments with the Cumbria Adoption team.
The next online information events are on Saturday 10 February at 10am and Wednesday 13 March at 6pm. The next one-to-one events are from 10am to 3pm at Penrith Library on January 30 and Workington Library on February 28. To book onto any of the information events please email events@cumbriaadoption.org.uk
It's not every day the conductor of a world-famous orchestra visits your school...
Young musicians at Dane Ghyll Community School & Nursery had the experience of a lifetime when they took part in a workshop with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic's conductor Domingo Hindoyan to mark the start of the orchestra's three-year creative partnership in Barrow!
A big thank you to everyone involved in this inspirational occasion, including our friends at Cumbria Music Hub.
