The deadline to apply for a Year 7 place for your child starting Secondary School in September 2024 is fast approaching.
The online application process closes on Tuesday 31 October 2023.
Applications received after 31 October 2023 will be treated as late applications. This means that they will not be considered until we have dealt with all timely applications and allocated places to these applicants.

We are hosting a series of climate events to help shape and inform Part Two of our Climate Action Plan. These climate conversations are open to everyone and will be an opportunity for people to hear from the council about the impacts of climate change on our area and the council’s response to the climate crisis.
Each event will run from 7-8.30pm with doors opening at 6.30pm. They will take place at the following locations and dates:
- Kendal Town Hall – Monday 23 October
- Penrith Town Hall – Tuesday 24 October
- Ulverston Coronation Hall – Thursday 26 October
- Online event – Thursday 2 November

The yellow weather warning released by the Met Office forecasts strong, disruptive winds and heavy rain in the area.
