A launch event will be held on Sunday 24 September, from 10am to 12.30pm, to celebrate the completion of works at Castle Park Tennis Courts in Penrith. The event will feature free, family-friendly tennis activities as well as a first-look at the new courts.
Free tennis activities and coaching will be on offer for all ages and abilities. Rackets and balls will be provided, so all are invited to come along and give tennis a try.

Cumbria Fostering is set launch its latest recruitment campaign across the county next Tuesday (26 September), with the release of a powerful new film created in collaboration with 80 other local authority fostering services.
The film, Any of Us, highlights the fact that people from all walks of life and backgrounds have the potential to foster and will be available to watch, on our website and on our You Tube channel, from noon on the 26 September.

Voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise organisations are being invited to apply for a share of a new £350k grant fund created by Westmorland and Furness Council to provide money advice services to local communities.
We are welcoming applications from organisations with a track record of providing good quality money advice services – such as debt management, budgeting advice, cost of living support, benefits advice, and mortgage/rent advice.
Applicants will also be required to provide clear evidence and information to support their proposal to deliver the service in particular locations and venues, providing a full description on how they intend to reach those who need their service.
The closing date for applications is 5pm on Friday 13 October 2023.
