Never bin batteries or electrical items
It’s easy to think something so small won’t matter, but throwing batteries or small electricals in with your general rubbish can lead to serious and dangerous fires.
Don’t let your battery cause the next fire. Always recycle batteries and electricals separately.
Have you been thinking about fostering? Find out more about fostering and chat to our friendly team and carers at our upcoming drop in event at the Costa on Angel Square in Penrith. The event will take place on Thursday 7 September at 12pm.
We urgently need more carers for children of all ages in your area.
If you have a spare room a child could call their own and are great with children and young people, we'd love to speak to you. No need to book, just come along and enjoy a brew on us and ask any questions you might have.

Heart attack symptoms and signs can vary from person to person. The most common symptom of a heart attack in both men and women is squeezing across the chest or a feeling of unease.
But symptoms don’t always feel severe – lesser-known symptoms include a feeling of pressure or heaviness across your chest, shortness of breath, feeling or being sick and back or jaw pain without any chest pain.
It’s never too early to call 999 and describe your symptoms. If you think you or somebody you’re with is having a heart attack, don’t be tempted to wait to see what happens.
