A new free development programme has launched to help people set up working for themselves offering care and support to older and disabled people locally.
You could offer any kind of help at home such as: cleaning, cooking, shopping, trips out, support to dress and wash, DIY, gardening and more.
The programme is coordinated by Community Catalysts in partnership with Westmorland and Furness Council; and supports people to make sure their care and support business is set up safely, legally and sustainably.
Leave your details at Community Catalysts' website and your local catalysts Jade and Hannah will be in touch for a chat to tell you more.

Did you know that too many of the wrong items can lead to whole wagon-loads of recyclables being contaminated and unsuitable for recycling?
Whether you're recycling at home or at one of our many recycling banks across Westmorland and Furness, please help us by recycling, not wishcycling!
For a helpful guide to what you can and can't recycle, visit our website.

We are carrying out a consultation with the taxi trade and public to gather their views on a new taxi livery.
Taxi livery ensures that the travelling public can easily identify that the vehicle they're travelling in is licensed and to ensure they know who to contact should any issues occur.
It is also important that hackney carriages and private hire vehicles do not look like one another, as private hire vehicles are only able to accept bookings which are pre-booked through a private hire operator, and hackney carriages can be hailed in the street or ply for hire on a rank.
You can complete the survey online.
The survey will close at midnight on Thursday 10 August 2023.
Join us! There are currently 69 job opportunities available to apply for now.
