The Cost of Living Support Hub will be open from next 24th October, making it easier for you to get help if you need it.
Anyone who needs advice and support around cost of living issues will be able to contact staff who will provide advice and match their needs with support available nationally and locally, including from local charities and voluntary organisations.
The initiative has been set up by West Berkshire Council in partnership with Greenham Trust and the Volunteer Centre West Berkshire and will work closely with the local community and voluntary sector.
The hub will be open from Monday-Thursdays 8.30-5.00pm and Fridays 8.30am-4.30pm.
More information about the hub and an online contact form can be found on our website or you can contact the hub by email. The team can also be contacted on 01635 503333.
Speaking about the new Cost of Living Support Hub, Leader of West Berkshire Council, Councillor Lynne Doherty, said: “We’re here to help - providing advice and support, and putting those who need assistance with those in a position to give it. Working with our partners and the local community and voluntary sector, this hub will provide a valuable community resource this winter."

We want to ensure that West Berkshire is as inclusive as possible. To find out how people feel, we’re asking everyone who lives and works in West Berkshire to let us know whether they feel they’re included and treated fairly.
It’s only by hearing from people about their personal experiences that we can make any changes needed to move us forward, so please take our survey knowing this is a confidential, safe space to share your thoughts and experiences.
The survey takes around 10-15 minutes to complete and will help us identify priorities for the future through a new Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Framework. Access the survey and more information about why we’re doing this work online.
The survey will be open for responses until midnight on Sunday 27 November 2022.
Across the district litter picking groups, including Thatcham, Hungerford and Tilehurst are popping up to keep the area clean. If you're interested in volunteering, Tilehurst and Thatcham have their own Facebook pages with lots of advice and information. You can also borrow litter picking equipment from our waste team here in West Berkshire to get you started.
If you run a local litter picking group and need more volunteers from local residents, place it on aDoddle, where residents will be able to see it.

We're pleased to announce the launch of our community repaint scheme at our household waste recycling centres (HWRC) at Newbury and Padworth in partnership with our contractor Veolia UK.
Community repaint allows residents to drop off paint at either of our HWRCs in the usual way. Staff at the HWRC will assess the paint and see if it is in a good enough condition to be re-used. This will then be available for residents to take free of charge. This scheme is only open to householders, and we cannot work with traders, retailers or manufacturers.
More information can be found on our website.
