Did you know analysis of the rubbish bins showed these were made up of over 25% of food waste. So let's work together to recycle food waste!
Your new separate weekly food waste collection service starts from 31 October 2022. Food waste caddies and liners have started to be delivered so if you haven't received one yet please keep an eye out for them arriving soon. Deliveries are continuing until 28 October 2022.
If you place your rubbish and recycling into a communal bin store with shared bins, your bin store will receive at least one purple wheeled bin to share with your neighbours and your service will start week commencing 28 November 2022, you will receive your new containers by 25 November 2022.
You can view our YouTube video on food waste collections here or for more information please visit: www.westberks.gov.uk/foodwaste.
Cllr Steve Ardagh-Walter, Executive Member for Environment and Transformation, and Kofi Adu-Gyamfi, Waste Manager, will be hosting a talk and Q&A about our waste and recycling services across the district on Wednesday 19 October at 5pm on the Councils main Facebook channel.
If you have any questions you would like Steve or Kofi to answer on the night, you can ask them live on the session but the best way to do this is by pre-submitting your question via email to: recycle@westberks.gov.uk with the title 'Waste Facebook Live Event' before 4pm on 18 October, which is the day before the FB live, to ensure it will be answered.
We will aim to get through as many pre-submitted and live questions as we can on the night.
We look forward to seeing as many people attend as possible.
Click here to follow us on Facebook and mark your attendance to the event so that you automatically receive a notification when the live starts.
