The closing date for Primary school applications is 15 January. Applications can be made using our on-line application form. This is the best route, as you'll get a receipt when you submit your application, and you'll find out which school has been offered on the offer day instead of waiting for the post.

 Now that the Christmas festivities are over, we've had a lot of questions asking what should be done with your Christmas trees and whether we will be collecting them. The answer is YES, we'll be collecting real Christmas trees.
We have a temporary suspension on garden and food waste collections which ends on 8 January 2022, so we'll be collecting real Christmas trees on your next garden/food waste collection from 10 January 2022. Please put your real tree out for collection then.
Please remember to remove all decorations and pots. Trees larger than 4 ft must be cut in half.
If you can't wait that long, trees can be taken to the household waste recycling centres.
 Reading is a top leisure choice for people of all ages in West Berkshire. In fact, it’s so popular that our 2021 Summer Reading Challenge had the highest level of participation in the South East of England reaching 16% of all 4-12 year olds across the district. We’re bookmarking that as a great leisure achievement!
 We’ve teamed up with The School Sports Network and were very excited to deliver Wellbeing Passports to all primary schools in West Berkshire received for their year 5 and year 6 pupils before Christmas.
The passports are full of fun activities and learning based around the 5 Ways to Wellbeing and support the Health education curriculum. They can be used to help deliver Health education lessons and have interactive and reflective activities for children throughout the academic year, supporting national campaigns such as Children's Mental Health week in February.
