Sunday, 5 September, 11am - 5pm
COVID-19 vaccinations and lateral flow self-test kits (rapid Covid-19 home tests) will be offered at the Falklands Cricket Club for people aged 16 and over. This will be alongside One Community Cricket and Family Fun Day taking place on the grounds at Enborne Street, Newbury, West Berkshire, RG14 6TW.
You can get your first or second dose for the Pfizer vaccine from the NHS Health on the Move team. If you are going for your second dose, your first dose must have been a Pfizer jab and administered at least eight weeks before.
You do not need to have a GP or an NHS number to get the COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine is available free of charge and without any immigration checks.
When you pick up your free self-test kits from the Community Testing van, you can also be shown how to take the test by one of the trained team members.
More information about One Community Cricket and Family Fun Day event is contained further down this news bulletin.
Other ways to get your jab

-
book online for an appointment at a vaccination centre or pharmacy (this booking platform is expected to accept bookings for 16 and 17 year olds from next week)
-
find a walk-in COVID-19 vaccination site - no appointment needed
- if you cannot book online, you can call 119 free of charge. You can speak to a translator if you need to
From 16 August, anyone who has been identified as a close contact of a positive case will no longer have to self-isolate, providing they have been fully vaccinated and are not displaying any COVID-19 symptoms.
All close contacts, regardless of vaccination status, are advised to take a PCR test as soon as possible to confirm their condition.
Those who are fully vaccinated will only be required to self-isolate if they test positive for COVID-19 following a PCR test.
Anyone under the age of 18 who has been identified as a close contact of a positive COVID-19 case will also no longer be required to self-isolate. Instead, they will be given advice about whether to get tested and depending on their age will need to self-isolate only if they have tested positive.
Double vaccinated people identified as close contacts are still at risk of being infected and are advised to consider other precautions such as wearing a face covering in enclosed spaces, and limit contact with other people, especially with anyone who is clinically extremely vulnerable.
Ways to get your self-test kits
It's still vitally important to keep testing for COVID-19 if you don't have symptoms as you could be unknowingly transmitting the virus, even if you've been vaccinated.
