MP for Newbury, Laura Farris, is hosting a pre-COP climate summit for West Berkshire via Zoom on Friday 16 July at 2pm to 3:30pm. As the UK will be hosting the UN Climate Change Summit, known as COP26, this year in November in Glasgow, Laura is hosting an online forum in the lead up to bring together residents, community groups, national and local experts.
At the event you can hear about some of the issues facing West Berkshire as well as some of the fantastic projects already underway to tackle climate change. The summit will also be a chance to explain what the UK will be seeking to achieve in terms of climate change and what to look out for in the lead up to COP26. This is an opportunity for local residents to share their concerns and ideas with Laura and, following the summit, Laura will be writing to COP26 President, Alok Sharma, to summarise the issues.
To RSVP please email Laura directly via laura.farris.mp@parliament.uk. Joining instructions and further information will be sent closer to the time.
