Yesterday we joined the country in the National Day of Remembrance to remember everyone who has died during the past year, and the people they left behind who are grieving.
Our Leader, Cllr Lynne Doherty, said: "Living with the pandemic has been extremely difficult for us all, regardless of our age or circumstances. Now that we have reached a point where we can slowly and cautiously follow the roadmap out of Lockdown, we reflect on the lives that have been lost and sacrifices that have been made.
"The National Day of Reflection serves as a reminder to us all to consider how best we can support the people we know who have lost someone close during the most challenging of times that many of us have ever known."

We've approved a total of £495,519 in grants to 16 community groups for local projects that benefit their residents and businesses.
The successful bids included the renovation of village halls, clubs, and scout halls, as well as improving sporting and playground facilities, to be implemented by 31 March 2022.
The grants, which range from £10K - £100K, will be paid from our Community Infrastructure Levy fund.

As the council tax spending leaflet which came with your bill explains, the money helps us provide a range of good essential local services and support our most vulnerable people.
We are also continuing to invest in the district to support the local economy and reach our carbon neutrality goals.
If you need assistance with your tax bill, or further information, please visit our website via the link button below:
