Every ten years, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) organises a census to provide a unique snapshot of our society on the day of Sunday, 21 March 2021
Participation in the census is required by law and by taking part you will help make sure that your community is counted in decisions on services and funding
By now all households should have received a pack for the Census which takes place on Sunday 21 March 2021. The pack includes your unique code and explains how to complete the census form online for census day.
The census is a survey to build a picture of all the people and households in England as of 21 March, in order to help plan and fund public services such as transport, education and healthcare. Census 2021 will also give fresh information to improve understanding of the impact of the pandemic on people's lives.
You will be able to complete the census using any device, including your mobile phone or tablet. If you’ve responded before 21 March and things have changed, you can let the ONS know by calling them free. You can find the numbers on their contact us page.
If you didn't get a pack, or if you need more information about the census, please see the help page on the official Census 2021 website:
More than 5,000 people have already taken a look at our proposed Active Travel schemes for improved walking and cycling opportunities in West Berkshire. Why not join the platform to see the plans and share your views?
Tomorrow, Thursday, 18 March, is National Child Exploitation Awareness Day. Child sexual exploitation (CSE) is a form of sexual abuse that involves the manipulation and/or coercion of young people under the age of 18 into sexual activity.
We are supporting the #HelpingHands campaign from NWG, a charitable organisation, to help raise awareness of child sexual exploitation. Through raising awareness we can improve the chances of young people being heard and deter CSE. For more information visit the NWG web page:
