Please keep on sticking to the rules
We thank the people of West Berkshire for following the lockdown restrictions for everyone's safety. We all still need to keep sticking to the rules, as explained in a video by Carol Jackson-Doerge, Director, Community United West Berkshire:

The single most important action we can all take is to stay at home to save lives. If you do need to leave your home for a legally permitted reason, such as essential shopping, exercise, attending a medical appointment, or travelling for work, make sure you’re clear on what you can and can’t do.
Our community testing sites use lateral flow tests (LFTs) to help identify people who may be infected with Covid-19 but don't have any symptoms, referred to as 'asymptomatic.' Anyone testing positive will be requested to self-isolate to help stop the spread of the virus.
Book your Lateral Flow Test if you are a critical or key worker Hungerford Rugby Club and Burghfield Community Sports Association are the latest community testing sites to open for lateral flow testing on Monday 22 February, in addition to our existing sites Highwood Copse Primary School and Thatcham Rugby Club
We are also happy to welcome the self-employed or small business service providers, such as tradesmen/women, to be tested, and an email has been sent out to our business contact list. Please look out for the email and don’t forget to check your junk mail too.
See how to book a lateral flow test at any of the four community testing sites.
Lateral flow tests for businesses If you are a business owner and wish to obtain lateral flow test kits for yourself and your employees, you must register directly with the Government.
Residents aged 65-69 will soon get a letter asking them to book their COVID-19 vaccine at a mass vaccination site.
Most residents in priority groups 1 - 4 (aged over 70 or Clinically Extremely Vulnerable) should have now had their first vaccine dose, but anyone who thinks they have been overlooked should contact their GP surgery.
Our vaccination page has the more information about the vaccine programme.

Around 1.7 million people in England have been identified as being at possible high risk from Covid-19 through new technology that analyses a combination of risk factors based on medical records. Those within this group who are aged over 70 will have already been invited for vaccination and 820,000 adults between 19 and 69 years will now be prioritised for a vaccination.
On Tuesday (16 February) the Government announced that the patients identified through this risk assessment will be sent a letter from NHS England in the coming days explaining that their risk factors may help identify them as high clinical risk and that they are included within the support and advice for the clinically extremely vulnerable. They will be invited to receive a COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible if they haven’t already had the jab, and will be given advice on precautionary measures, including shielding, where this is current advice. Their GPs are also being notified.
Anyone receiving this letter and who needs help should register with the National Shielding Support Service (NSSS). The Community Support Hub is contacting everyone who registers to make sure that have the support they need.

As part of the Council's Public Protection Service, six Covid Marshalls have been out on the streets since Monday (15 February). Their role is to provide guidance to residents and businesses about lockdown restrictions and any Covid-related concerns they may have.
Cllr Lynne Doherty, Leader of West Berkshire Council, met two of our Covid Marshalls on their second day out. Local residents have welcomed their support and clarification on some of the finer points of the rules to keep themselves and others safe.
The Covid Marshalls will also be facilitating the safe return of shoppers to high streets once restrictions are officially eased by central Government.
