Certain groups of people are particularly vulnerable to cold weather, with many at greater risk of severe illness from COVID-19 and winter illnesses such as flu. Remember to heat your home to at least 18 degrees Celsius and check in by telephone on those who are more vulnerable to make sure they are warm. Financial support is available for those in need.

With Covid-19 in circulation it is extremely important that those who are eligible for the free flu jab get vaccinated. For more information on who is eligible see the NHS website.
Please speak to your GP/Pharmacist today about booking an appointment if you haven't had your flu jab yet. If you have a long term health condition, such as chronic liver disease, chronic kidney disease, or have a BMI of 40+ it is important you get vaccinated as soon as possible.
A solar farm could be built on land near Grazeley as part of our plan to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and help combat climate change. A feasibility study found a solar farm provides a viable option for clean, green energy which would offset around 30% of our carbon footprint.
The proposed plans for the solar farm will see more than 45,000 solar panels installed on up to 75 acres of land we already own - generating enough electricity each year to power approximately 4,400 homes. The plans, announced today, will be delivered as part of our Environment Strategy as we work towards a carbon neutral district by 2030. Subject to funding approval and planning permission, work could start on the site in 2022.
