Parents enhance their skills with Makaton Level 1 Workshop
Wolverhampton parents and carers of children and young people with SEND recently took part in a Makaton Level 1 workshop with IASS delivered by our very own Makaton tutor Stacey Roalfe.
The course provided a practical introduction into Makaton as an essential communication tool to implement with their children who experience speech and language difficulties.
The participants told us they joined the workshop to support their children to communicate better. Some participants were familiar with basic signs and wanted to learn more. Parents said the workshop was an excellent opportunity to learn a new skill which they can’t wait to put in to practice with their children and families.
