SEND Partnership Board

Wolverhampton SEND and Inclusion Strategy

 

Wolverhampton SEND and Inclusion Strategy has been published.  This strategy sets out the vision and priorities of the SEND & Inclusion Partnership Board’s offer to children, young people and their families. It also recognises and builds on the strengths and what works well for families.

Ofsted

Ofsted Big Listen

 

Ofsted want to hear from children and professionals working with children about how they can improve how they work.

The Big Listen is the opportunity for you to help Ofsted improve how it works by sharing your views and provide feedback on the areas of greatest interest and importance to you.

There is an online consultation for children (up to age 18) to give them the chance to tell Ofsted what they think inspectors should look at when they visit their school or social care setting, and how Ofsted can do its job better.

The consultation runs until the end of May.

Treat your family to the magic of musicals with the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre's relaxed performances.

During relaxed performances there will be a lowered volume, reduction of special effect lights and startling noises, open door access with free movement in and out of the auditorium, relaxed auditorium rules, sensory room, quiet spaces, changing rooms, live stream of the show and additional staff to help.

DHL UK: Child truck safety free training
programme for schools 

DHL UK- TACS programme

 

DHL UK is offering its free programme to schools to ensure pupils are aware of the hazard and safety around trucks and lorries.

Trucks and Child Safety (TACS) is a national road safety training programme is delivered free of charge and aims to teach children aged between 7 and 11 to be safe on the road by creating a greater awareness of larger vehicles and their associated dangers. 

Face to face demonstrations and classroom sessions are available, as well as a learning platform for young people to improve their safety awareness.

Yo! Wolves Active Membership 

Yo! Wolves active membership

 

Yo! Active is a two-year pilot of offering a diverse range of free physical activity to children and young people in Wolverhampton between 0-18 and under 25 for young people with a special educational need and disability and care leavers.

It includes an inclusive offer across all sessions and specialised activities for certain groups that have bespoke needs, such as girls, children/ young people who have a special educational need and/or disability.

Adults, 19 – 24 years who have a special educational need and disability can access a fully funded WV Active membership, which then continues to the concessionary funded scheme if eligible post 25.

All children, young people and adults who require support with accessing facilities are able to bring a carer for no additional charge.

To access the offer, WV Active account is required with a YO! Active membership.

KIDS charity are offering wellbeing activity virtual groups for young people aged 13 to 25 years. The activities give young people the opportunity to learn about wellbeing, try something new and meet new people.

Events include wellbeing drop ins, yoga class, film workshop, Zumba class, setting up your own youth group and how to advocate.
