Support for businesses

We’re determined to keep Wolverhampton’s business community vibrant and resilient by working with our local businesses and their employees, those who are self-employed, and those looking to start a business. If you have any business related query please complete the contact form at the foot of the Wolverhampton Employer Support site and we will respond within 2 working days. Alternatively, you can call one of our business support officers during normal office hours (weekdays 9pm-5pm) on 01902 555572.

Depending on the nature of your enquiry we will provide an answer or signpost you to the relevant organisation/s to help you. This might be through a relevant workshop, a specialist website, or more in-depth face to face support.

(Please note the Wolverhampton Employer Support Service will be closed from 5.00pm on Friday 22 December 2023 and reopening at 9am on Tuesday 2 January 2024).

Aston University will also be present to share information about the Decarbonisation Net Zero Programme and the Free Energy Assessments now available to SMEs.

Create Central, in partnership with the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) and Creative UK, has announced its successful bid to deliver the next phase of the Create Growth Programme (CGP) which will help creative businesses to scale, with access to major new investment opportunities.

The West Midlands Create Growth Programme will address the needs of high-growth potential creative businesses and nurture the development of investor networks. The CGP is founded on three synergistic pillars: business support tailored to the creative industries, financial empowerment, and the cultivation of investor capacity. A key aim of the Programme is to support creative businesses to explore and secure commercial investment opportunities. To this end there will be a programme of activity that will enable businesses to be ready for investment and facilitate access to additional funding from Innovate UK and commercial investors in 2024 and beyond.
