HELP TO GROW MANAGEMENT COURSES

help to grow

Places are available in June to take advantage of the 90% government-funded course that’s been designed by entrepreneurs and industry experts.

The course involves peer learning sessions and help in developing a business growth plan. Topics covered include leadership, marketing, employee engagement and financial management. Businesses across all sectors can apply, including social enterprises, and to be eligible for the course, your business must employ between 5 and 249 people, and have been operational for at least a year. Recent satisfaction surveys suggest that 91% of those who have completed the course say that they would recommend it to other business leaders.

Rob Arnold, Group Business Manager at West Midlands based Greyville Enterprises Ltd, said: “I would strongly recommend it to business leaders who want to excel and cope with high growth strategies. This course covers the fundamental building blocks and platform to develop a robust plan and strategy for your organisation.”

Courses in June are being held at business schools at Birmingham City University, starting on 6th June and Coventry University starting on 14th June.

HMRC – SELF ASSESSMENT

HMRC

More than 77,500 customers submitted their 2022 to 2023 tax returns on 6 April 2023.

Why not join them by filing your Self Assessment tax return now and have peace of mind for the rest of the year.

You have until the 31‌ January 2024 to file your return and pay any tax you may owe, but there are many advantages to filing early – you can:

  • find out sooner if you’re owed money
  • pay in instalments to help with your budgeting
  • get help if you can’t pay your Self Assessment tax
  • avoid the stress of last-minute filing

Choosing to file your tax return early does not mean you have to pay HMRC straight away. The 31‌ January deadline for payment remains unchanged.

There’s lots of information on how to file your tax return early on GOV.UK. There is also a selection of live webinars to help you:

  • how to fill in your Self Assessment tax return if you’re self-employed – covers employment income, the self-employment section, including an overview of other income, and claiming tax reliefs
  • how to fill in your Self Assessment tax return if you have UK property income – covers employment income, the UK property income section, including an overview of other income, and claiming tax reliefs
  • how to finish your Self Assessment tax return, your tax calculation and payments – covers finishing your tax return, your tax calculation, what to do if you’ve paid too much tax, submitting your return and paying your tax bill
