Dear Colleague,
It was good to see many of you at the Inclusion Summit yesterday. I felt there was a real buzz to the day. It was shocking to hear about some individual stories but empowering to see how people are challenging the issues. I know that Helen and Brenda are pulling all the materials together from the day and we will share them with you.
I hope that you have a good half-term break next week, take plenty of rest….
With best wishes,
Phil
Congratulations and Good Luck

Lawnswood Campus Good News Story!
Lawnswood Campus welcomed the 163rd Mayor of Wolverhampton on Tuesday. Cllr Sandra Samuels OBE spent her time with The Orchard Centre young people and staff who were working on a ‘Tolerance’ session led by Mr Gates and Mrs Corbett and she also had a tour of The Orchard Centre. Lawnswood Campus is delighted that Cllr Sandra Samuels has made ‘dare to dream’ the theme for her year in office and that she was so complimentary about the Centre, young people and staff that she met.
Lawnswood Campus also welcomed Mark King and Chris Jones from The Oliver King Foundation on Wednesday for Defibrillator Training for 24 staff and deliver 6 Defibrillators for Lawnswood Campus.

Managing respiratory illnesses including covid-19, flu and colds in educational settings
Respiratory infections including colds, flu and COVID-19 are common in children and young people, particularly during the winter months. Below is the current advice around when staff and pupils should stay at home if they have a respiratory symptoms:
- Pupils or staff members who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home until they no longer have a high temperature and they are well enough to attend.
- Do not exclude individuals with mild symptoms such as a runny nose, sore throat, or mild cough, who are otherwise well.
Although there is no legal requirement to isolate and systematic testing is no longer widely available, some people may still access tests. The following advice relates to staff or pupils with a positive test result:
- Adults aged over 18 are advised to stay home and avoid contact with others for 5 days from test date.
- Those under 18 are advised to stay home and avoid contact with others for 3 days from test date.
