Views of businesses and residents invited on future development
City of Wolverhampton residents and businesses are being invited to have their say on the draft Digital Wolverhampton Strategy for the city.
The draft strategy sets out the vision and aims for digital development in Wolverhampton and will act as a framework to update the city’s current Digital Infrastructure Strategy.
It will be delivered through a city partnership approach and will look to further develop three key areas.

Applications portal expected to open in early January for city businesses
The Government announced on December 21, 2021, additional economic support to help hospitality businesses who have been most impacted by the Omicron variant.
City of Wolverhampton Council is now awaiting further guidance and the funding from the Government, with applications for the new grants expected to open to eligible businesses in early January via an online portal at www.wolverhampton.gov.uk/businessgrants.

Help to Own provides chance to buy their brand new house for just £1
Dozens of key workers and families struggling to get a foot on the property ladder have been handed the ultimate Christmas gift – a brand new house of their own with the opportunity to eventually buy it for just £1.
The pioneering Help to Own scheme in Wolverhampton has received thousands of enquiries from people across the UK wanting to make their dream of home ownership a reality.
Now, all 100 of the brand-new houses available under the scheme have been allocated in time for Christmas.
Help to Own has been set up by City of Wolverhampton Council, West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) and fund management business Frontier Development Capital Ltd (FDC) through its NewCo My Generation Asset Management Limited. It is specifically designed for working families, and, in particular key workers struggling to save enough to buy a property.

Jay Blades, Steve Bull and Steve Davis join exciting festival line-up
Star of BBC One’s The Repair Shop, Jay Blades, and sporting legends Steve Bull and Steve Davis are the latest names to be added to the Wolverhampton Literature Festival line-up.
Hosted by City of Wolverhampton Council, Wolverhampton Literature Festival returns from 4 to 6 February 2022 for its sixth year.
The festival aims to champion the creative voices of Wolverhampton and the West Midlands and provide a platform to showcase their talents.
Organisers have been working hard and have confirmed further acts.
