Hayward Gallery Touring have announced new dates for British Art Show 9 (BAS9), which will now come to Wolverhampton from 22 January to 10 April 2022. The show launches in Aberdeen this summer but Wolverhampton will be the first city in England to host BAS9, before it tours to Manchester and finally Plymouth.

British Art Show is the largest touring exhibition of contemporary art in the UK, giving people in cities across the country the opportunity to engage with work by the most exciting artists in Britain.

You can now explore our exhibition Stellar: Stars of our Contemporary Collection online in the form of a virtual tour. Stellar presents a selection of stand-out works from Wolverhampton's world-class collection of contemporary art.

Each of the featured artists has been nominated for the Turner Prize or selected for the British Art Show over its 40-year history. The exhibition focuses on themes in the collection including gender politics, conflict and cultural identity.
