Steels go in as Your Wolves Civic website is officially launched

Wolverhampton Civic Halls’ (Wolves Civic) restoration has reached a major milestone with the first new steel beams being installed to improve the 82-year-old venue’s infrastructure - and create new spectator balconies.
Contractors, Willmott Dixon Interiors, have set up a mobile crane inside the historic Grade II-listed halls to manoeuvre the heavy steels into place, while working in line with the Government’s Covid-19 health and safety guidelines.
As the transformation of the Wolves Civic ramps up, we are celebrating the fascinating history and emotional power of this iconic building with the official launch of www.YourWolvesCivic.co.uk.

Premises adjustments fee to be waived for three months

City of Wolverhampton Council is providing extra support to businesses during the Covid-19 pandemic by waiving the fee for adjustments made to its commercial properties.
Many businesses have had to make changes to the layout of premises to ensure their trading environment is Covid compliant.
Alterations to the council’s commercial properties normally incur a landlord’s consent fee of between £350 and £500 depending on the work carried out.
For a period of three months, starting from Saturday, October 31, 2020, this fee will not be charged, subject to a review that the changes are made to accommodate safety requirements as a result of Covid-19 and/or to enhance trading capabilities.
