Half Term Fun at Wrexham’s Libraries

Wrexham Library – Craft Activities

Join the staff at Wrexham library for lots of fun activities for children over half term, including Winnie the Witch and Room on the Broom activity sheets and masks to make, along with some great books to borrow from our spooky display. All activities are free and for children of all ages, and will take place all week.

Chirk Library -  All things Dinosaur

For 160 million years Dinosaurs ruled the earth… now they’re at Chirk library! For just £1 you can join in with crafts, games, fancy dress, do a treasure hunt and plenty of other Dinosaur themed activities. The session starts at 2pm, is suitable for children aged 4-11 and you must book your place.  Call 01691 772344.

Ruabon library - Magic the Gathering Tournament

Come along and enter the mystical world of Magic the Gathering. Summon great warriors known as Plane Walkers and battle with spells and monsters representing the five elements of magic, earth, fire, water, light and darkness. Don't miss it! The session will run from 2-4.45pm and is suitable for children aged 9+ (and adults too!).  The session is free but you must book your place.  Call 01978 822002.

Ruabon library – Meet the Dogs Trust

Come and join Bethan and Flo the dog on a doggy adventure! Find out all about dogs amazing powers and super senses in this fun and interactive session. This session runs from 2.30-3.30pm, is free and is suitable for children aged 3-11 years.

 

Rhos Library - Sesiwn Crefft a Stori/Craft and Story Session with Magi Ann

Magi Ann will be hosting one of her special events at Rhos Library, 2-3pm. These bilingual story and craft sessions will cost just £1 per child and there is no need to book.  They are arranged by Menter Iaith Fflint and Wrecsam.

Gwersyllt & Llay Libraries – Meet the Dogs Trust

Come and meet Dogs Trust Education Officer, Bethan Richardson for some fun, spooky activities and learn how to ‘Be Dog Smart’. The first session will run from 10.30-11.30am at Gwersyllt, the second at Llay from 3-4pm and is aimed at children of primary school age and is free of charge, but you must book your place. Fancy dress is optional!  You must book your place.

 

Gwersyllt Library – Movie Afternoon

Lights…Camera…Action! Join in all of the fun of Movie Afternoon at Gwersyllt library from 2pm.  There is a small charge of £1 which covers refreshments, popcorn and drink – bargain!

Something for adults!

Learning at Lunchtime

Wrexham’s War 1914-18. As a garrison town, Wrexham’s Home Front was involved in the war effort from the declaration of war right through to the Armistice in November 1918 and the legacy of war shaped the town beyond the Peace Celebrations of July 1919. Step on-board for a whistle-stop tour of Wrexham’s First World War, at Wrexham Library on Wednesday 7th November, 1-2pm. The session is free but you need to book your place.
