congratulations

Success for Ysgol Clywedog students.

In January Amber, Chloe, Mia and Ella who all play for North Dragons Netball club, qualified for the national finals in Cardiff in May. Well done and best of luck for May.

Also in January Coleg Cambria  hosted their first ever forensic science competition at Yale site.  This was part of the Welsh Skills Competition and YC were successful in the finals through Sophie Povey who won silver and Kai Brown who won bronze. Congratulations to both.

SIP

December Parental Survey Feedback

Thank you to all those who completed the Parents' survey. It is important as a school we receive valuable feedback that we can act on.

Based on the feedback five areas have been integrated to the School Improvement Plan. Our focus as a school will prioritise Learning, Attendance, Behaviour for Learning, Leadership and Value for Money.

Another key area from the feedback was home-school communication. It was clear that letters do not always make it home! We are now putting copies of school letters here. The website, Twitter and Facebook are also good ways to keep informed.

We have also fixed the issue with the wrong number being shown on outgoing calls from school. This will help identify when school has called.

Being able to make an appointment is not always easy, so we will also be starting a 'Headteacher's Drop-In' every Thursday from 3pm-4:30pm. You can turn up during this time without an appointment to see the head about anything.

Hopefully these improvements will make a difference, and we will continue to use the survey to improve further.

AED

An AED for your community

Help us make sure whenever you are on the school site, a defibrillator is nearby. As well as the students and staff of the school, users of the leisure facilities in the evenings and weekends, Brickfield Rangers, UK Hockey and many more could benefit. We are hoping to raise enough for an external AED so it is accessable 24/7.

We need you to help raise enough money to equip the school and the local community with a life saving machine.

Donations can be made here.
